Ok, no, that's not even a fair description of what's happening here. Kankri is lecturing you. Kankri has been lecturing you. Kankri has been lecturing you for two fucking hours what the fuck. You have given him... let's count it up now... yeah, exactly zero reasons to do this to you. You don't even have a single goddamn clue about what has him so spun up. He happened to come back to the hive while you were making the thirty second trip between your husktop and the food preparation block, and you said hi. This is what happens when you try to be polite. All you wanted was an energy drink.

He stares at the phone, and the open text for what feels like hours, but is probably only minutes. Thoughts are racing around his head, disjointed and discordant, impossible to string together. The numbness gives way all too quickly into utter panic, and then he’s gasping, clutching at his shirt as he hyperventilates, his vision going blurry as he stares at the white bubble with black text and his world teeters at the edge.
Because fucking hell, Wilbur is his everything. Wilbur was the only one to pick up his calls when Quackity’s mother died, even when it was two in the morning and the day before his uni finals. Wilbur talked him through his first panic attack and probably two dozen since then, Wilbur was the one that congratulated him on getting into law school, Wilbur was the only one who’d ever understood him.
