“Why would that be weird?” Eridan asked and Sollux rolled his eyes.
“You really don’t find any of this weird? Or awkward?” Sollux asked and Eridan shook his head. The programmer goes silent and stares at Eridan for a long moment, so Eridan stares back.
Sollux exhales in disbelief then, shaking his head.
“Fuck you,” Sollux said, with no real heat, smiling down at his sandwich.

Eridan hates Sollux, he hates him and everything about him.
For all of a few months, because then soon after, Sollux becomes maybe the only person Eridan really trusts. And he's not sure what to do with that.
