Summary
Elodie Lavellan is barely holding it together. A Dalish elf -who isn't that good at being Dalish- finds herself in charge of the Inquisition and a ragtag team of companions. She isn't equipped for it, but she wasn't really equipped for her life before, either. Raised Andrastian by an eccentric father, named in strange Orlesian style, and soothed by a magpie-like collection of shiny objects, Elodie has always just done her absolute best.
But after her first experience with a demon beyond the battlefield, her best isn't enough. Elodie is left with nightmares that seep into her waking hours. As the events of Thedas slowly unfurl around her, she has to try to keep herself and her companions from faltering. She never thought that stargazing with a former-Templar would help her find her center.
Through starlit talks, stolen glances, and secret dreams, Elodie finds herself craving honeyed sweetness just beyond her reach. And maybe, given the chance, she'll gather up the strength to finally taste it.

When he glanced at her, her face was set but her eyes sparkled with unshed tears. He had spoken out of anger for his friend, but he had spoken the truth and they both knew it. That’s what made it so painful.
Evelyn and Maxwell Trevelyan were both marked by the breach, but that's where the similarities lie. While the exuberant and impulsive Maxwell takes up the mantle of the Herald of Andraste, Evelyn is left to find her own place within the growing Inquisition, and perhaps the family she always wanted.

Adaar attends some fancy-pants function to woo nobles to the Inquisition’s cause- and runs into a face from her past that she's not exactly pleased to see. Pre-'Demands of the Qun' and Pre-'Wicked Hearts' (The Iron Bull is Qunari and the Inquisition isn’t high on the nobility’s priority list). This was supposed to be a oneshot to get me back in to writing fanfic. It's not a oneshot anymore. Teen for language.
