Nancy stays still and waits for Robin to catch up, an odd expression on her face that she can’t quite place. It takes her a few seconds to recognise it as a barely repressed smile.
“How are you?” Nancy asks, softly. It’s very new, all this. Nancy. Robin. Whatever is happening between them.
A week ago their interactions were limited to small glances in school corridors and the shared understanding that they had gone through things that no one else would ever understand.
