Summary
Okay—he'd been half-joking about the fetish thing. Half. The last time Dean had the flu, Sam suffered through a full marathon of Eastwood: two days of gun smoke and spur jangles while Dean sweated out a fever beside him. A Fistful of Dollars. The Outlaw Josey Wales. Unforgiven. Sam made it through Pale Rider by counting ceiling cracks, but Dean—sniffling, wheezing, pale—watched it with pure, glassy-eyed devotion.
Every time Sam's eyelids drooped, a bony elbow would jab his ribs—"Look, Sammy, this is the best part." Chin dropped to chest, Dean's voice would grind into a low growl: "Dyin' ain't much of a livin', Boy."
Then he'd grin, thoroughly pleased with himself, and shoot Sam the smarmiest of winks.

Summary
He wakes up gasping, like he always does. Always with heart racing and sweat beading on his forehead. Always with the sense of having just awoken from a terrible dream, except that it wasn’t a dream. It was worse. The adrenaline rush makes his head throb dully, makes his vision prick with the threat of tears that he quickly blinks away. Dean bops his head to the beat, reaching into his duffel bag for his toothbrush. Sam watches with a mix of tedium, irritation, and profound, breathtaking relief.
Something about watching Dean die does that to him. Every time.
(It's Tuesday. Sam chases the wrong lead. He's hanging on by a thread.)

Summary
Because the thing is that a year ago, Dean brought him back from the dead. And in doing so, he’d made a mess, too. Dean had tried to shelter him from that, but it only made things worse in the end. There really is no hiding from things like this.
Sam had told him, last year, that he wouldn’t save him anymore. Well here he is, anyway. So much for that.

Summary
And suddenly, filling his entire screen, Rozanov was grinning into the camera with a row of bloody teeth. His lip was split. When he wiped his mouth with the back of his bare hand, it came away streaked with red. He spat the rest onto the ice with an awful smile and a wink before getting to his feet.
Jane: Can you stay in the dressing room?
Lily: Are you asking or telling?
Jane: You hate being told what to do.
Lily: Not when it's you
Jane: Stay.
Jane: You looked really fucking good taking that hit.

Summary
When Shane was displeased with Ilya, there was a certain intensity in his speech that called to Ilya like a siren song, dragging him to an early grave with its vehemence. His voice would pitch higher, bossy and prissy and so stridently righteous it should be intolerable.
But Ilya was, for all intents and purposes, a whore. And nothing made him harder than his husband putting him in his place.
