Summary
The cold was nothing new to Xie Ta, it was more correct to refer to it as a companion that never left his side.
A reminder of his inhumanity.
However he never felt burdened by it, he had long become used to baths which ran cold, his heart which would beat nothing but cold blood and the silence filled with nothing but the sound of page’s turning as he immersed himself in his beloved monster books, remaining indifferent to the noise around him.
Yet this all changed after meeting Bai Liu – Bai Liu who represented another word line, another loss to the prophet and another world line where he was doomed to suffer. However, instead of the usual pain, he felt a warmth he never felt before.
Dark eyes had looked at him with nothing but a pure curiosity and warmth.
A warmth he had never felt before but,
“Would you like to read with me?”
-he found he himself was curious as well.
