“Tsukasa-kun…?” Rui tries again. “The…the costume, it’s good. I can handle it from here...”
Tsukasa’s fingers remain motionless. Rui feels a slight quiver at the tip of the zipper.
An awkward silence ensues. Well, awkward for Rui, at least. He doesn’t know what Tsukasa’s feeling right now. Two laser beams burn into his back where Tsukasa’s eyes seem to be glued. He can hear Tsukasa’s breathing, but he’s not sure if it’s just because the room is quiet. The tension is palpable, a string being tugged from both sides until its threads start to fray.
He clears his throat weakly.
“Tsukasa-ku—”
Warm lips press against the nape of his neck, and Rui’s heart genuinely stops.

Emu stared at the garish, neon pink contraption on the screen for a while, mind racing. They didn’t have many toys aside from the strap that Emu and her wife shared, and the simple attachment that accompanied it. How would it feel to have that thing in her hand? How would it feel to push the buzzing length of it inside one of her partners? How would they react?

“I’m home!” she called, bright and cheerful, expecting one of them to pop up with a joke or a smile.
Silence.
Her brow creased as she set her bags down carefully, the soft thump echoing faintly across the quiet apartment. “Tsukasa? Nene? Rui? Where are you?”
She glanced toward the living room — still empty — then toward the hallway leading to his room. “Hello?”
Tsukasa and Nene appeared from the kitchen doorway, both offering small, gentle smiles.
“Hi Emu,” Nene said softly. “Rui's in his room. He got hurt at school — it’s nothing dangerous, but he needs to stay in bed for a few days.”
Emu’s eyes widened, a flicker of worry crossing her face. “Hurt? Is he… okay?”

When Rui’s injury forces him to slow down, he’s left alone with frustration — and memories he’d rather not revisit. But with Emu’s warmth (and a little artistic chaos from the rest of WxS), he begins to see himself — scars and all — in a softer light.
