Summary
A continuation on "Intricate Rituals Which Allow You to Touch the Skin of Other Men".
It’s easy to forget how difficult and dull Laios finds it all, how totally his way of life has been subsumed. He doesn’t get to engage in his favorite things every day, and in fact has been cursed out of engaging his interests. When he looks at it from Laios’ perspective, it seems… somewhat lonely.
What fortune, then, that Kabru wants to pry Laios’ skull open like a ripe fruit with some regularity. “We can spar again soon,” he promises. “Make it a regular thing, even.”
Laios’ smile doesn’t reach full vigor as he replies, “Yes, that would be nice.”

Summary
There were many such stories, he had read, where a fisherman would fall in love with a selkie and take her coat so she would forever remain a human. They would marry, then, and likely have children.
"A happy ending," his mother had said with a soft smile, reading to him by his bedside, and quietly snuffed the candle out to tuck him in.
What a cruel thing, he had always thought. To fall in love with something so beautiful and different, only to trap it in a world where it doesn't belong.

Summary
“Kabru has the kind of striking beauty that would make him especially interesting to someone who has dedicated their life to the arts,” Marcille maintains the clinical edge in her voice.
Something stirs in Laios, an unease of sorts.
It must read as confusion on his face, because Marcille gives him a look.
“Kabru is to artists what monsters are to you,” she puts it more bluntly.
“Oh,” Laios mutters.
And so unto the kingdom, the royal painter declared, ‘At long last, I have found my muse.’
Laios just has to deal with it.

Summary
To the southwest of Revachol, far into the wild pale yonder is a radio repeater station. On this station is a corpse -- a woman killed in cold blood. There is no suspect. There are no clues. It is a thoroughly impossible death, a murder in utter isolation.
Two officers arrive on the scene. Voices bleed from the tower above. Something is horribly wrong.

Summary
“I haven’t…” she starts, watches his blue eyes narrowed in concern and it’s distracting, everything’s distracting. “I haven’t had a body in a hundred years,” Zelda manages, and shrugs one shoulder, as if to say what can you do? “I was Hylia, mostly, and a little bit me, but I wasn’t a person. I was the sun and the wind and the water and the dirt and I was in a prison and I was the prison. I feel like I’m blindfolded, now, without that sense of the world, but also everything is so bright and loud and close and I hardly know how I’m managing to speak to you when my skin is feeling wind for the first time in a century. It’s…” she trails off, her words failing her, which is infuriating because she’s a scholar, she’s good at words. “It’s a lot,” she finishes awkwardly, for lack of anything better to say.
Or: Learning to be a person again, after the end.
