Summary
Four days after the events of JJK 0, Satoru starts dreaming of Suguru. It's not so different for him, since he's been having nightmares of him since Suguru defected years ago, but these dreams are different. Suguru is different.
Is Satoru finally losing it, after going one too many days without sleep? Does the soul reside in the body or the mind? And what does it matter, in the end? What does it mean for Satoru, when he can't sleep anymore without seeing an increasingly desperate Suguru in his mind's eye?

"I used to dream that I'd pull out every curse in my body, the real ones, the awful ones, the ones poisoning my soul, and that you'd just delete them with a blast of Hollow Purple. Then you'd do that stupid wink you always did, and you'd say, let's go home, Suguru , but when I tried to speak, I realized that I was one of the curses writhing on the floor, and that you had turned me to curse dust all the same. I used to dream it all the time, Satoru; long before you finally killed me. Some nights I would wish you'd just get on with it already."

Summary
When he finally decided on a move, Suguru, in his haste to make it, knocked over the kettle. It rolled, splashing Satoru’s hand and knee with scalding water.
“Clumsy,” Satoru commented.
“Are you alright?”
Satoru raised his hand. The edge of his sleeve was wet, the skin of his wrist reddening.
Suguru was already halfway to his feet. “Come, I have salve that will soothe the pain.”
“No need.”
“Surely it hurts.”
Satoru shrugged. “So it does. I don’t mind.”
Suguru wakes after a year-long, dreamless sleep—or so it seems. He finds his family safe and sound, Satoru changed almost beyond recognition, and his goals more achievable than they’ve ever been. Yet, he hesitates, lingering on unanswered questions that might ruin the illusion of peace he’s been granted.
