When Maki decided they wanted to follow through with the idea of marriage to change their name, it was obvious who they would ask. Yuuta is sure Inumaki would’ve done it too, and Panda if he were, well, human. But they told Yuuta they wanted it to be the person they were closest with, because it would make their family roll in their graves even harder if they found genuine happiness as well as a spouse.
I won’t give you a ring, they said, I don’t want to replace Rika-chan, and I don’t need this to look like the marriages you see at the end of cheesy romance movies. But I honestly can’t imagine marrying anyone besides you.
It wasn’t even a question in Yuuta’s mind whether or not he would accept.
