He looks away with a huff. “None of your business.”
The little girl, who had looked up from the shop’s display to observe their conversation, clicks her tongue in clear disapproval. “Be nice, Hat guy,” she says sternly, yanking on the hem of his shirt in an undeniably familial way.
Sethos swallows down his laughter at the incredulous look on Hat guy’s delicate features. “Yeah, listen to your sister, why don't you.”
“Sister?” Hat guy gapes at him. The little girl’s eyes widen, but then she just giggles.
“See, he thinks you should listen to me more,” she says. “Big brother.”
Hat guy chokes on air. "You're - She's not my sister!”

“I mean, seriously, do you… um.” Idia winces. There’s no pretty way to phrase this. “Just... do I ever actually… you know… turn you on?”
“I…” Riddle begins. His gaze flicks to the tablet, where the girl is flushed and moaning, her eyes glassy with overwhelmed tears. Then he looks back at Idia, and his cheeks darken further. “If I imagine you… making a face like that, it’s… a little…” He swallows, his eyes darting away, then back to Idia with that infuriatingly earnest intensity. “Exciting.”
Idia freezes. Wait. What?! His pulse skyrockets.
“Wh–what-wh-WHAT?” His voice cracks embarrassingly. “You imagine me... like that?!”

In the dream Malleus created for Idia, the dream that was supposed to be perfect, so many things were fixed. Or at least polished to the glossy, sugary sheen of wish-fulfillment.
Ortho lived and laughed and grew taller every year. Idia's social anxiety had been nerfed to a manageable debuff, letting him attend events in person without wanting to melt into the floor. He’d started making friends IRL. Like, actual human-connection friends. His gacha luck? S-tier, unrealistically so.
But there had been… one more thing. One thing he could not, would not, should not ever tell anyone.
In his dream, Riddle Rosehearts had been his boyfriend.
