Summary
Florence had.. been through a lot to put it lightly, the black death of the 16'00s beginning when she was only 12, her mother contracting the plague- her small village attacked by anti-witchcraft religious zealots, after discovering her family's history of witchcraft, killing her mother in the process. All on her 14th birthday, then her father got possessed by a demon that feeds off pain and grief. Being forced to become the demon's protégé, doing the most vile experiments on people. Only getting the courage to leave at 17, pursuing the career of plague doctor like her mother, now managing the smaller outbreaks. Only to discover her childhood crush, Summer, who, as a child, had been forced to move away by her very religious parents. Now finally settled down with Summer in their own little cottage, trauma still festers within Florence, having never quite healed from what was done to her. But surely Summer can support her through this, and let Florence be vulnerable, the dear moon to her sun.
