Summary
Ilya had a chirp prepared for this moment— he’d been workshopping it for weeks, hoping they’d face off at this game. He had a formula: It needed to be pithy and suggestive, inflammatory, but playful. It had to make Shane’s face scrunch in annoyance, his freckles emphasizing every hill and valley, just the way Ilya liked it. He had carefully edited down his ideas until he had a winner that was sure to make Shane slam him into the boards out of spite. Ilya loved it when he played hard
But the thought of chirping Shane Hollander immediately exited Ilya’s mind when he finally got a good look at him.
—
Shane pushes himself to his breaking point and has a mid-game meltdown. Luckily, Ilya is there to help.

Summary
As Jet Star sat on the ground, wrist caught in his sleeping friend’s vice grip, he reflected on the past few days.
It had been the worst few days of his whole entire life.
It all started, as it always does, with Party Poison almost getting ghosted. Not that that’s a rare occurrence or anything, but usually they shake it off with a sharp laugh (even if the accompanying smile didn't quite reach their eyes) and forge ahead.
This time was different.
—
Jet is always the one who fixes the problems— that's his job. Or, at least that's what he tells himself. But what happens when it just all becomes too much? With Party down for the count after a particularly traumatic run-in with Korse, Jet is left to put out all of the resulting fires— even if it means ignoring his own needs. But everybody's gotta break eventually.

Summary
One of the first lessons every Killjoy learns is that sleep is a luxury in the Zones- you take it when you can and run. So on quiet nights when the sky is calm and the routes are empty, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone with half a brain on the waking side of consciousness.
But then again, half a brain is a lot to expect from certain ‘joys.

Kobra and Ghoul should be asleep. Instead, they are on a mission to pierce Kobra's ears.

Summary
They were laughing at him. The asshole was actually laughing at him.
Fun Ghoul lay in the hot sand, knee twisting at an impossible angle... well, not impossible. He's definitely had it worse- what, with all the falling off of roofs and getting shot at on the daily and all- but Party Poison underscoring his suffering with their giggling only put Ghoul in a worse mood.
