Summary
Gangle sniffled. Jax quickly put on his grin again when she turned to look at him. "See? Th-that's what I mean...", she stuttered out, grimacing in confusion. "You say stuff that's supposed to hurt and say you don't care yet you sit here beside me and tell me I'm not alone." Her eyes seemed to stare straight into his soul. Jax wanted to run. "So, w-why haven't you walked away already, Jax? Why are you still here?"
Silence. Jax's heart had stopped beating completely. He could feel the grin slide off his face, the cracks forming in his well-maintained facade. Then, with the intensity of an 80.000 pound truck hitting you at 105mph, everything started again.

Summary
It's been a few months since the group has escaped the circus, and things are going well, for the most part. They've got jobs, hobbies, relationships, and they've all jumped back into life with more vigor than ever before. It's good. Almost. Jax thinks that's a sign, in a weird way, that perhaps all of this isn't as worthy as it seems. That he's not as worthy. Not that it matters.
And so, on one random Sunday night, Jax decides he's going to take his own life.
Or
Author wanted to write a character study about Jax coping in the real world while also learning to see himself as a person.Bookmarked by pmf
