Neil should have fallen asleep upon arriving home from play practice—it had been an arduous day, and Neil had wanted nothing more than to sleep through the entirety of it.
But when he saw Todd with his kind eyes and soft smile, with a chessboard laid out in front of him, he found himself fighting off sleep, just to stay up a bit later with him.
