Not fault of his, certainly. No, the real issue was the fact that there was only so much he could do with what limitations and odd restrictions he had to deal with. While he didn’t fully understand why his employers had barred him from continuing to perfect his new Medi-Gun’s ÜberCharge, he knew better than to outright break the few regulations they’d been given.
Even if it meant an annoying lack of progress. With a sigh, he tossed the bloody bonesaw in his hands he’d forgotten he was even holding to the side, pursing his lips with furrowed brows as he glanced towards Archimedes.
“It is quite the enigma, is it not?” he sighed, shaking his head, “I can make these men gods, but what use is goodhood if it only lasts for eight seconds? Even less, if more than one’s in need!”
A series of 9 loosely connected oneshots from the Medic’s perspective, each revolving around one of his coworkers and set throughout his time at Reliable Excavation Demolition.

Roger’s expression shifted, teasing delight making way for interest as he tilted his head to the side with shining eyes, excitement bleeding into his tone, “Did you find anything interesting down there, Rayleigh?”
The earnest eagerness in his captain’s question was almost enough to soften his heart and make him forgive the man with fond exasperation in favor of enjoying the rest of their day without grudge.

Stanley caught him staring and looked away in a manner that, if it’d come from anyone else, might’ve been called sheepish. His eyes glanced towards the spilled dice on the floor and he grimaced.
“Alright, so. Maybe I took things a bit too far there. So, uh. Sorry, Ford.”
The surprised silence that followed his words was palpable.
It wasn’t as though Ford wasn’t… glad for the apology (even if the cause for it should have never happened), but the fact that he’d been given one in the first place was more than startling. Because Stanley apologized. Stanley never apologized. Not to him, at the least. It was always excuse over excuse, over excuse, over excuse. The silver lining approach. Never an apology, no matter how trivial or significant.

Summary
Solitary confinement wasn't so bad with the right prison mate. Sure, their summer was a bit limited, but they were fine with it.
Except when, like any prisoner, they still wanted that taste of freedom, regardless of the cost. Except when, probably not like that many other prisoners, they stumbled across a strange device, half-buried in the sand.
Finding himself further away from the familiar beaches of home than he'd ever been before, alone with his brother nowhere in sight, he was starting to realize that the price of freedom was steeper than anything he could've ever imagined.
Timestuck au with a twist, takes place a few weeks after "Lost Legends: The Pine Boys in: The Jersey Devil" and during "Dipper & Mabel vs. The Future"!

It wasn't an attack by another anomaly—they'd fought off their fair share of those.
It wasn't even any of the natural health problems you might expect in men of their age and histories—they'd headed off some of those issues, but were both surprisingly hale and hearty, on the whole.
No. This was something Ford hadn't even thought to fear.
"I'm thinkin' it's probably time for me to call it a day on this sailin' thing and go home," Stanley said. "We’ve both gotta find our own way in the world sooner or later, right?”
