Summary
It must be a sign from the universe that the seat next to Peter Lee has become his designated spot.
He’s not sure why the seat’s always empty. Peter’s totally normal, definitely not the type of person you’d swerve to avoid. He’s a good-looking, no, the best-looking guy he’s ever seen in the department. He writes his notes on his MacBook like a secretary in a high-rise corporate office, and smells like the expensive part of a Macy’s. Considering the amount of texting he does, Mark’s concluded he has a lot of friends, so he's not antisocial. The only natural conclusion Mark can draw is that the universe wants them to be closer together.
One of these days, he thinks, he’s going to say something to him.
(Mark's a writing major that can't write, and Donghyuck is straight out of a daydream. Mark feels like he's finally waking up.)

Summary
Tossing and turning at night, worrying about a man who doesn’t think of him as anything more than an acquaintance is a downright demeaning way to live, he inherently knows this. It doesn’t stop him from losing sleep over whether or not Mark has already moved onto the next big thing.
It doesn’t hurt any less when he watches Mark eat breakfast across the table the following morning, never losing eye-contact with his phone.
(Mark wants to be friends, and Donghyuck is tired of running in circles.)

"It's a perfect window of opportunity for Donghyuck, lips close enough that all he has to do is tilt his head forward a bit, a clear shot that would be difficult for Mark to avoid without breaking his neck. At best he'd land something wet on his cheek. Unless Mark didn't move, of course, then his attempt at teasing him would be foiled.
That’d be legendary, he thinks, if when Donghyuck jokingly leaned in, lips puckered for a kiss, Mark kissed him right back. The image hits him head on, making him grin, like a weird joke only he's in on."
(One day at practice, Mark gets the funniest idea for a practical joke. Now he just needs Donghyuck to try and kiss him.)

Summary
Though he’s never been more sure that he likes someone, he’s positive that he’d never know what to do with a boy like Donghyuck unless given explicit instructions. And Donghyuck lays it out clear. Meet me here, text me good morning, kiss me there. And Mark was an excellent rule follower, which made their dynamic that much easier.

Summary
He’s everything all at once, a giant contradiction. He’s sour but he’s so, so sweet when he’s with Mark. He’s a Gemini, so Donghyuck says the planets intended for him to be like that.
Mark doesn’t know much about the planets, but he knows they led him to Donghyuck for a reason, all the way from New York to a small neighborhood outside of Seoul.
