Summary
Vi and Caitlyn couldn't be any more different. Caitlyn comes from a prestigious background, she does ballet in her free time and is friends with all the popular girls, while Vi works overtime on top of trying to not get behind on her classes just to make ends meet and care for her family.
After coincidence (fate?) brings them together, both of them find themselves drawn to the other in ways they can't explain just yet, and as whatever it is between them unfolds, Vi and Caitlyn will discover more about themselves than they could have ever imagined.

It was a room. A very precarious state of what should be a room. Or maybe cell was a better description. There was a sink and a toilet on one side. A metal bed attached to the wall in front of her. Everything seemed very old, as if it had been stored and forgotten there for years.
Caitlyn saw she was not alone. Under the bed, occupying the smallest possible space, there was a person.
A child.
"What's your name? I'm Vi," she continued when there was no response. If Caitlyn couldn't see the girl's chest rising and falling, she'd doubt whether she was even alive. "This is Caitlyn. Who are you?"
The minutes passed. Caitlyn was already thinking of her fifth contingency plan when the child moved. An almost imperceptible movement. A slight lift of her neck, allowing for a better view of her intruders. "Lavender," her voice was thin, yet hoarse, as if it hadn't been exercised in a while.
"Nice to meet you, Lavender."

Tobias, completely unfazed, smiled.
- “My daughter thinks, that you’re so cute.”
Silence.
Pure, deafening, paralyzing silence.
Caitlyn’s entire soul left her body.
Jayce’s mouth dropped open in pure, giddy disbelief.
Cassandra, in the ultimate betrayal, laughed aloud.
Caitlyn, meanwhile, was already halfway under the table, face burning hotter than the sun.
- “DAD, STOP!” - she screamed, clapping both hands over her face, willing herself to evaporate.
