Summary
Waking up in what was the Black Egg, Hornet saw Ghost's broken mask, cracked in two pieces. She goes to the Abyss in an attempt to bring them back.
However, you can't expect everything to go perfectly smooth.
Both Ghost's mind and mask were broken.
It's going to be a long road to get Ghost's emotions back, but in the meanwhile, lets just sit back and enjoy the ride, shall we?

(World plot inspired by the Grimm Troupe!Ghost series)
The Hollow Knight had done its job.
The Radiance is forever sealed away; Hallownest still in its prime. However, those pesky Vessels kept trying to climb out of their hole from whence they came.
The Pale King saw cheap, slave labour for all of Hallownest, and so they were.
Enter Quirrel, a young, new scholar under the tutelage of Monomon. With so much work, he decides to buy a Vessel, Ghost, to help alleviate the workload. After all, they are just mindless beings, right?
A Slice of Life story about emotions, changing who you are as a person, and learning to smile sometimes.

Alas, the world does not care for Niko's wishes.
One day they find a USB stick in the wheat fields. A drop of red blood drawn on it.
They load it up on their computer, and a single executable is on it.

Niko has to guide a stranger through an even stranger, and deadly, world.They must find the secrets of the world, this stranger, and fix both.
If only it was that easy.
[But remember this. Everything that happens to him is your fault, and your fault alone.]
[No one can, or will, take the blame of your actions.]

this is not a story about hallownest saved from the brink of being consumed by infection. this is not a story about the ruins being rebuilt, or travelers slowly filtering back in, or life slowly resuming its natural rhythms. the pure vessel sacrificed everything for hallownest, the princess tirelessly protected the secrets of hallownest, the knight traveled all of hallownest to put it right. for once it is not about the kingdom, but those who gave all for it and are now left on their own to pick up their broken pieces.
when the only purpose you've been given in your entire life is fulfilled, what else is left for you?
