Every time she shuts her eyes she can see Ace walking away from her, shoulders bowed, steps heavy. Wishes she could pour the alcohol directly into her eyeballs to scrub the image clean.
What if Ace went to the singles night after all? What if the curse had actually been broken during the ritual at Icarus Hall that put Nancy in the hospital? What if they actually got a little slice of happiness after all this angst?
