it’s almost endearing, how smart he thinks he is.
key word: almost.
he really thinks all of his bravado and holier-than-thou facade will distract from how scared he is. how his taunting words don’t reach his eyes, how his little smile doesn’t stretch as wide as he’d wish. under the restraints — duct tape. ironic, isn’t it? — his fingers twitch and scratch at the wooden chair you’ve got him sat in. it’s tempting to reach over and slap his hand, deter him from his irritating — and likely subconscious — actions; the way the wood occasionally chips and slips under his blunt nail is almost enough to make you wince.
and through all of this, he hasn’t shut up.
