The room exploded with noise. Whispers broke out, jaws dropped, and nosy eyes darted between Hongjoong and Mingi, waiting for someone to snap.
Everyone knew of their poor relationship. They’d constantly been at each other's necks for months. Constant bickering, jabs via social media, and rivaling fashion pieces left their teams high strung with anxiety at every meeting, and with this new collaboration on the rise, the future began to look bleak.
“Let me get this straight,” Mingi said slowly, leaning back in his chair, thick silver chains clinking against his thin shirt. “You want me to work with him?”
Across the dark wooden conference table, Hongjoong didn’t blink. His suit was a smooth navy, crisp, and almost surgical in its precision. Even his rings looked sharp enough to cut. “Believe me,” he sighed. “The feeling is… mutual.”
“And yet,” the councilwoman hissed as she stood, “If you want to make the final slot… you’ll find a way.”
