Hajime froze. What the hell did he just say?
Tooru pursed his lips and turned to look ahead. He continued walking like he didn’t just blow Hajime’s mind.
“Wait!” he grabbed Tooru’s arm to turn him back around, “Are you- are you sure?”
He stopped and looked back at him with another smile, albeit sad, and nodded. He took a breath before responding, “It’s okay, though, really.”
Tooru resumed walking their path to school. He tried to look unaffected, but Hajime couldn’t help but notice how he seemed smaller than before.
He waited until he was out of earshot and mumbled a soft, “Happy Birthday.”

Post-canon, a very broken Yuuji and a very broken Megumi find comfort in each other.

"Do you love me?" Yuuji asks softly.
It's a strange question, and Yuuji has never been in love before, so he doesn't have any reference. But the feelings inside him are unlike anything he's ever felt before, and he's desperate for answers.
"I'm not sure the word is big enough," Megumi replies.
"What word is big enough?" Yuuji asks.
Megumi is silent for a long moment, and Yuuji wonders if he's even going to answer.
"I need you," Megumi finally says. "I need you in an unhealthy, obsessive way. I need you more than I've ever needed anything. I think that's the word."

Summary
The first night Atsumu spent completely alone, not only from Osamu, but from all of his friends, he realized how cold the world felt without someone to hold on to. Intending to never feel that way again, he became even more persistent with touching the people around him. If he could show his love through soft touches and tight hugs, he would take the chance every time.
