Hwang In-ho, a police officer, has his life turned upside down when he decided to join the 28th edition of the Squid Games in 2015. Even now, 7 years later, as a detective, he is still trying to navigate life with the scars that the games had left in him. He's faced with the duality of forgetting the games and take revenge of the evil organization, battling with this decision for so long and, as a result, pushing away everyone in his life.
Until he met Seong Gihun.
Gihun, reserved, positive, stubborn, the walking typhon, the living hurricane Gihun, enters In-ho's life like a storm, and he's there to stay. Gihun will challenge the walls that In-ho built around himself and break the distrust he has of people, showing him that there is always a light, despite the darkness.
Will In-ho be able to let Gihun in his life and let himself be happy? Or will he push him away, wanting Gihun's safety despite his feelings?

Summary
Squid Game AU where In-ho never accepted being the frontman. 7 years after the events of the 2015 games, In-ho still struggles to navigate life with the ever-growing grudge and hatred he has for the games. Being this closed off, reserved person, his life turns upside down when he meets a bartender named Seong Gihun.
Now with Gihun in his life, everything changes. In-ho finds himself enjoying the presence of such a man in his life. Too much. Gi-hun might put himself in danger if he keeps trying to get closer to In-ho. The detective's plans make a turn to the unexpected. In-ho's priority shifts. Will he finally get over the fear of connecting with people for their safety or will his obsession with stopping the games consume him and hurt Gihun?

Goka seemed a little put off by his younger brother’s hostility but glared at them before speaking.
“I haven’t even said anything.” He huffed, already furious at his younger brother’s defiance.
“Ya haven’t but yer starin’ at me like ‘m doin’ somethin’ wrong, so what is it.” Zanka didn’t even spare the other man a glance, still typing away on his keyboard, this seemed to infuriate the other man more.
“Should the two of ya really be doing all of that here?” He looked at the two on the couch like they had single-handedly ruined his entire day.OR

Once they had a serious conversation about what went down in the Monster Association’s lair, how Badd defended him, how the Hero Association sucks. They haven’t spoken yet about what went on inside Garou’s head, but Badd is pretty sure he grasped the jist of it: they share the same view on what an ideal hero should be and what they should not be (which is: Amai Mask). This is why Badd left the Hero Association after what happened.
