He can hear the careless shrug accompanying Minho’s words.
“I said stop,” Jisung tries, though they both know Minho has never acted like he knew the meaning of that word. It’s the scariest realisation Jisung has made about him.
“You’d be just as good as them if you invested the time they put into their music. You’d be better.”
Jisung can’t look at Minho after that. He knows the other is in the room, a shadow with a heavy gaze, but he doesn’t know if he’d be able to deal looking back. If Minho really is a mirror, reflecting all of Jisung’s thoughts, will Jisung be able to accept what he sees in Minho’s face? Minho is so beautiful; will that be enough to stomach this ugly, roaring envy?
A hand brushes Jisung’s hair. Jisung feels like a dog, a small child, placated but its worries not truly taken into consideration.
“Trust me,” Minho orders him, voice airy and unaffected. “I wouldn’t have chosen you if you were destined to be second best.”

Summary
When the end of the world comes, Minho is on his bed, on top of Jisung, kissing Jisung for the first time. It is stupid to point out it’s a cruel detail, considering that the first cascade of earthquakes will claim victims in the millions. Still, if Jisung could be so self-centred to ignore the fact that the end of the world started with so much death that the loss is unfathomable for a human brain, he would say it sucks that Minho and him never had the time to kiss, and be together, and walk through the park hand in hand without the apocalypse looming over their heads.

It helps that, when the end truly comes, Jisung finds himself not afraid.
