Summary
Daenerys Targaryen was always supposed to be Queen. From the moment she could understand the spoken word, she was told she would one day be Queen.
In the final battle at King's Landing, Daenerys almost does it. She almost drowns them all in Fire and Blood when she sees one face - a face that changes everything. A simple smallfolk woman tucked into an alley, looking up at Drogon with fear naked on her face and an infant clutched to her chest. Dany, realizing just what she was about to do, flees the battlefield and breaks down, allowing her army to win in her stead.
She's Queen now. This is her moment of glorious victory. So why is she still tormented by screams of burning men and the face of a nameless mother?
Why doesn't she feel like she won very much of anything at all?
