    Philza's eyes locked onto mine, cold and unyielding. There was no hesitation, no flicker of uncertainty in his gaze. His voice lowered, turning into a chilling whisper that seeped into my bones.

    "And Dream you’ll be there, every time," he said, his words dripping with malice. "You’ll love her again and again. Hold her. Fight for her. Swear, with every fiber of your being, that it’ll be different. But the moment she loves you—"

    He leaned closer, his breath fogging up the invisible barrier between us, and for the first time, his eyes gleamed with something worse than anger: satisfaction.
