At this, the cowgirl snickered. “Anything for ya, beautiful.” She winked before scurrying off.
The canine only blinked at that comment as she was left alone with her cadet, who chuckled a little at that comment. Was she trying to flirt with her? Or was it just some trick to throw her off and let her guard down?
If so, it won’t work on her. In her little over three decades of living she’s learned to stay cautious of conmen and tricksters who’ve tried to fool her out of everything she had. Hence why the Devil’s casino never really enticed her, even as it exploded in popularity a few years back. Staying disciplined was her key to having survived this long, and she swears she wouldn’t just falter any time soon. Not today, not tomorrow, never.
But even then, why did it make her feel all fuzzy and nice inside?
Or; maybe a search for a missing team member and an unexpected thunderstorm was what the stern Sergeant O'Fera needed to let loose a little.
