Summary
There are two young men standing in front of the train tracks. They're facing each other. One glowing, blue and slightly translucent, sticky and gooey.
As for himself, well, he's a regular person. Plain, corporeal and much harder to see in the darkness of the setting sun that now lingers behind the woods.He isn't sure which one of them is the special one.
Steve can see what others can't: Emanations. Ghosts. Spirits. He's always been very good at hiding it. It's been torturous since Eddie died.

Summary
Steve is recovering from everything that happened at The Battle of Starcourt. This also happens to include an accidental overdose on pain medication. Who saved him from that near-death experience? Any guesses?
Well, now Eddie is afraid to leave him alone, so he keeps showing up. They make lunch while they have a heart to heart.

Summary
Eddie is now in the fifth grade, that means he's been put in charge of a small theater production the school shows every year. Steve happens to be one of the fourth graders randomly selected to be an actor. He's also one of the only people to notice something different about Eddie - he's colorblind.
Don't worry, Steve is kind of adorable about the whole thing. (this is kinda a sequel to "houndstooth boys", with Steve helping Eddie out this time.... but it doesn't really fit as a second chapter, so here it is on its own.)

Summary
Three teenaged boys, one chilly morning in the library. First chapter is from Jonathan's POV, we then follow the rest of the memory from Eddie's POV in the second chapter.
"As he mulls it over, he makes a big dramatic sigh, and turns around to walk back to the library. He sits down on the bench outside, and lights up a cigarette. He might get caught, right here in the middle of the school's lawn, but he justifies it; Top Priority for this Operation. He's gonna need one if he has to talk with this Johnathan kid again."

Eddie Munson? Well, he just happens to have nothing better to do than sit back, and watch the show on this chilly evening. Oh, you thought he meant the children's play? Nah, he's got his eyes on someone special.
