It’d be strange if at this point John wasn’t aware of George’s connection to him, if he thought George just had a good eye and a piercing stare- he thought they’d talked about it, at some point, that they’d said something or maybe John thought something, or George had and he’d forgotten John couldn’t hear him. He wondered also, a bit more ridiculously, if Paul knew, if he’d forgotten to say, but he knew that at least Paul had brought it up, mentioned it at some point but they must have been fifteen- maybe Paul had forgotten, had assumed it was some childhood game.

“D’ye think you’ll go to bed soon too?” George turned to Pauline who was still sprawled on the couch, one hand tracing the fabric where Joanie had sat with her and one hand replacing the pressure her head had against her shoulder. She blinked once, twice, and breathed heavily, and George considered lifting her up and carrying her to her room himself.
“I’m pregnant.” She said.
“Oh, shit." [...] "What’d Joan say?”
“Um…” Pauline curled further into herself. “Haven’t told her.”
“Oh, alright.” George thought back to the last time he’d been the first person to know of something new in Paulie’s life. It had been long enough to be unable to recall, and he felt a weird sense of pride coming up into his chest before remembering to be worried again.

John and Paul are girls, George and Ringo are not. Paul gets pregnant on tour, and George offers to marry her and pretend to be the father. This is more of an exploration of their marriage than anything else.

That wasn’t fair, was it? One lad making you feel that way, deal with all of those clinging, gnawing emotions burning away at you was bad enough, but now it was two?
George has been horribly aware of how he feels about John and Paul since practically the day they met and has tried rather unsuccessfully over the years to ignore it. The other two take a while longer to catch up.
