His anxious brain seems to go completely quiet at this, all logical thought leaving, and he feels like a creature made only of instinct. He wants to reach out, he wants to pull John close.
“Can I… can I…” John’s eyes finally look away from Paul’s chest and up to his face, and he’s so vulnerable, an instinctual creature too, broken and looking for respite. “Can I have some? It’s…it’s for me, isn’t it?”
“Yes,” Paul breathes out, relief unknotting a tension in him he didn’t know was there. “Yes, it’s for you.”

Paul loved the effect he caused on people. The way they saw him as if he was something like a god. Or a Prince. He was having the time of his life, every single night in the middle of Swinging London.
However, there was this little private space, in which Paul could only admit to himself that all this social life and endless flirting felt somehow fruitless, empty. As if in reality he could never feel fulfilled by anyone. And that terrified Paul to no end, because if there was something that he desperately wanted - no, that he desperately needed,- was to have true love in his life.
