Summary
“I have been having indecent thoughts.” Lan Sizhui says to Lan Xichen one quiet evening in the Hanshi.
Xichen had not been expecting him that night, but of course he’d invited him in when he’d answered the soft knock at the door, slightly bewildered when Sizhui had taken two steps inside and immediately knelt and bowed.
The words are hardly an explanation for this interruption of his evening, and Xichen finds himself confused. He reaches down to pull Sizhui up, but the young man refuses to be coaxed upright, and so Xichen tries words instead.
“That is not against the rules, Sizhui.” He offers, “Have you acted on them?”
Sizhui shakes his head ‘no’, but he does not rise from his bow.
“Tell me what’s troubling you, then.”
Sizhui simply repeats himself, “I have been having indecent thoughts.” There’s a beat, and then, “About an inappropriate person.”
Lan Sizhui goes to Lan Xichen seeking punishment.
He gets what he wants, in a way.

A-Yuan starts to cry, "Baba, where's A-Die?"
The adults look at each other and Lan Wangji's face grew dark with an incomprehensible sorrow.
Lan Wangji takes in a deep breath and puts his hands on both of A-Yuan's shoulders. He gently removes him from his leg and simultaneously crouches down to be at A-Yuan's height.
Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen don't know what to say for several reasons. Lan Qiren whispers to Lan Xichen "Who's he talking about?"
"A-Yuan." Lan Wangji says softly.
Lan Xichen whispers back "I gather it's-"
"A-Yuan" Lan Wangji says again "A-Die, he moved away.. To a really far place. To a place we can't go to right now."
Lan Xichen continues to whisper super quietly "Wei Wuxian."
Lan Qiren's eyes widened so much that you think they would pop out of his skull.
A-Yuan says sadly "Oh.."
"But it'll be okay. I'll always be here for you." Lan Wangji's voice sounded hoarse and shaky. But just like that, a smile ran across A-Yuan's face and he nods.
"He was raising a child with HIM!?" '...In that moment, Lan Qiren had realized the lie Lan Wangji made up to tell the young child.'Bookmarked by randomwhore
