    Summary

    Carlisle has been hiding his omega presentation for years, in a world where secondary gender is widely known, but vampires are not. For their kind, like the werewolves imprint, there are rare mating bonds that are intense, and eternal.

    Charlie Swan starts seeing the new doctor in town for his blockers, his alpha scent always having been pretty strong. What he doesn’t know is that his scent, and his blood, are undoing three centuries of restraint in the careful Dr. Cullen.

    He also doesn’t know that he’s the only human in town who can smell the man. Well, vampire. But that’s another thing he doesn’t know yet.

    Summary

    It was an invitation disguised as a taunt. Ormund would not be accepting it.

    Gwayne looked at him fully then, and there was nothing soft in it. This was something with teeth. "If you were one of the lads I had under me, I wouldn't be kind to you at all."

    Ormund stubbed his foot on a loose flagstone, and he burned up the air with several violent curses that had men nearby pausing to observe with wide eyes.

    Summary

    He's better than Ormund at many things, always has been. Dueling (not grappling, never grappling), riding (but not hunting), humility over pride.

    Over the many years, he's learned that throwing the fight has a better outcome than beating his lordly cousin in any competition.

    Ormund is the Head of Hightower House, after all. Sometimes the knee must be bent.

    "He was awful to you, earlier." Daeron looked distinctly uncomfortable as they sat together in what now passed for Gwayne's room in Tumbleton, a chess board between them. His nephew was wringing his hands as though they were wet rags and Daeron a washerwoman. "Those things he said..."

    {The false empathic look, paired with 'I'm sure you found solace with some of your brothers in arms'}

    Gwayne stared at the floor, counting the cracks he found there. "Put it from your mind, Daeron. It was meant to humiliate me, not you. Long has he missed throwing his knives at me, in my absence. That is all that was. His idea of fun. A warm welcome home, if you will."

    Summary

    “Do not tempt fate, brother.” Aegon said with a plea. He yearned for Aemond to push him away, spit at him, draw a dagger from beneath the pillow he had been sprawled against like an oil painting’s subject just moments before. He yearned for his rejection Just to rid him of the strangle-hold of desire that was taking over him, misting his judgement, and leaving everything foggy and indiscernible.

    No violence followed, Aemond simply blinked, curling eyelashes capturing the orange glow of the candles so that they glimmered like spun sugar.

    Delicious.

    Part two has now been added.
