“Ok, ok, then we need someone to meet us there,” Eddie says, starting to pace, and Buck looks up just in time to catch Eddie’s thinking face before he turns and starts his path back towards the wall.
“I can call Abuela—“
“No, no she’s too close to this, and there’s no way she’d be awake at 2 A.M.”
“Ok, then your sisters—“
“Sophia’s in New York and Adriana is in San Francisco, there’s no way either of them could get there on time.” Eddie groans, collapsing on to the bed in a dramatic flop, face down next to Buck. Buck thinks for a second, then sits up abruptly, shaking Eddie’s shoulder excitedly as he does.
“I know—“ Buck says, scrambling for his phone. “I know who we can call.” Buck rolls over as the FaceTime tone rings out, settling on his stomach next to Eddie so they’re both in frame.

Eddie has a not-so-bad idea after a long shift with barely any sleep. Buck is 100% on board, and they call some friends to help make it happen

I watched You’ve Got Mail again and then was possessed by Buddie and Bantr. You do not need to have seen Ted Lasso OR You’ve Got Mail to understand what’s happening here. Just know that it’s a story where two people who know each other in real life meet each other again as online strangers. They fall in love both irl and online and then live happily ever after.
This is also Sitcom 911, not Procedural Drama 911. Everyone is funny and snarky and a bit out of character, and we happen to avoid all near-death experiences.

Summary
Evan Buckley is sitting down in his therapist's office, letting her pull on the threads that make his issues, hoping to find a way to cope over his best bud's decision, Eddie's imminent departure, without setting himself on fire, or something like that.
Instead, he realises he's been standing on the line between friend and life partner to his favourite person for a little less than 7 years and he freaks out about it.
Or, Dr. Copeland wishes she could send them to couples therapy but she can only pray Buck be brave enough to cross the line and smooch his husband before he leaves for Texas.
