Summary
'“Call an ambulance,” and Nicky opens his eyes to see Abby leaning over him where he’s slumped. Her voice is clear and steady—she’s probably seen worse—but her fingers are covered in blood and shaking as she quickly pushes her hair out of her face before pressing down over his stomach once more. “Nicky, are you with us?”
'He wants to nod, but can’t find the force to do anything but let his gaze track over to Aaron and Andrew, where they have both had to retreat to let Abby through. He seems to be seeing double, which probably isn’t a good sign. Either that or they are both wearing the same indecipherable look on their face and the same blood on their hands. It’s nauseating, and Nicky looks away.'

Nicky Hemmick does not have bad days anymore. Not since Germany. Besides, when Andrew's holding the knives, he's not really hurting himself, is he?

Kevin can read any expression on Jean’s face; he’s seen them all before. But he can’t believe the proud confirmation he sees there. It only lasts until Jean looks back at him, and whatever he sees in Kevin’s face makes his own screw up in frustration. “Can you not be happy—”
“But we are dating.” The words slip out before Kevin can stop them.
Jean’s face twitches until it settles into what Kevin is sure is a mirror of his own confusion. “We— what?”

Summary
It's been months since Jeremy transferred to the Foxes, but he still can't make himself walk into the hall of the winter banquet. Instead, he stays on the bus, and is surprised by a visitor needing his help.
-
“Kev— Jesus, what— Where are you hurt?” Jeremy’s hands are already out, moving the blanket out of the way to look for where the blood is coming from. But the blood is everywhere, still wet in some places and drying in others, and it’s just too much. Then he lifts a corner of the blanket, and it peels off Kevin’s hand. Behind it, Jeremy can see bones, and his breath catches in his throat. Kevin lets out a throaty groan of pain, and Jeremy carefully places the blanket back. For a moment, he kneels with his red hands in front of him, unable to tear his eyes off the blanket now that he knows what hides behind it. Kevin’s hand. Kevin’s left hand.

Summary
"'We went to speak with your mother because you keep falling asleep in your law school books,' Jean started, and Jeremy opened his mouth as if to protest. ’No, I did not tell her that. I did not speak to her at all. I do not think she likes me, so I brought Kevin as the messenger.’"

Jean needs to talk to Jeremy's family about Jeremy's future, so he brings backup.

Summary
"Even if Kevin hadn’t admitted this summer that he wouldn’t travel off-campus by himself, he’d said ‘we’ this morning when he was boarding his flight at Upstate Regional. Jeremy hadn’t asked because it honestly didn’t matter; he’d happily chauffeur the entire Fox lineup around the city if it meant Kevin was here with Jean for this." - The Golden Raven
When Kevin comes to California for his interview with Jean, the Foxes come with him.

Summary
"Hope isn't for people like us," Andrew said dryly, raising an eyebrow in question at Jean's answering scoff.
"Neil," Jean pointed out candidly, "You pretend to hate him, and yet he is your hope."
Andrew turned to him, slow and menacing. "We were doing so well, don't make me push you off the ledge."
Jean shrugged. "It is okay. Neil is the one who told me I was allowed to hope again."
A misunderstanding with Jeremy sends Jean running into the arms of the Foxes just in time for Christmas break. But when all is said and done, Jeremy will always be the home Jean returns to.
