“You are so silent now, but you left me so boldly last time.” Ilya brings up the time like it pained him, but was covered up by a carefully built wall of nonchalance. Shane could see right through it.
“Oh, fuck off. Don’t act like you care. Maybe it brushed your ego a bit when I left, but I know for a fact I was just another fuck for you. Maybe you making things all homey out of nowhere was new to me. Maybe I was scared because I knew deep down that you didn’t, still don’t, feel the same way about me that I feel about you. Goddamnit, Ily- Rozanov.” Tears had started spilling from Shane’s eyes now, he could feel his cheeks wet.
The worst thing of all of this is how the farther Shane got in with his rant, the more Ilya’s face contorted from cocky to cold, painful guilt.

Of course, what they had going on was at the borderline of casual and more than that, and of course, sometimes Shane’d think of the possibilities that could become more than that between the two. Sometimes, when he was really yearning for it— Shane would make scenarios of him and Ilya on the couch, watching a movie with a puppy on their laps on a nice rainy day. Not having to worry about being caught or running out of time, just being with eachother freely.
