Because of course the day he transitioned, he happened to discover that his mate was none other than the girl he had obsessively bullied for the last six years.
Honestly, what screams “soulmates” better than personally tormenting someone since they were eleven?
Now, if Draco Malfoy was a good Veela, he would do what was best for her. Maybe let her go. Let her move on and not tie her to the man who had made it his personal mission to make her life absolute hell. But, luckily for Draco, he wasn't a good Veela. Actually, he was a pretty bad fucking Veela, and as far as he was concerned, being with him was exactly what was best for her. So, he’s not going to let her go. He’s going to get her to fall in love with him instead.
That is, if she would just fucking cooperate.
