Summary
The 78th precinct's police captain, Toshinori Yagi, has volunteerd his squad to help implement the mayor's wish of increasing the successful cooperation between the city police and active Pro-Heroes. Each detective is to be assigned a Pro-Hero who will shadow them for two weeks, and the operation has been dubbed the 'Station Cooperation Operation'.
Although it is not well-received by those involved, Izuku Midoriya, current detective at the 78th precinct and loyal follower of captain Toshinori's ideals, believes that the operation will be a success. If his captain says it will succeed, there isn't a doubt in Izuku's mind that it will.
That is until he meets his assigned Pro-Hero.

Sometimes listening to Jake is like tuning in to radio static. He’s far away and the signal is shit, but by god, you’re trying, aren’t you? He can be sitting right in front of you and it still feels like he’s coming through from centuries away, voice distorted, lips moving out of sync with his words. Maybe there are subtitles you’re missing. “Dirk,” he’ll say. “Are you listening?”
“Yes,” you’ll tell him, still trying to crack the signal.

Summary
When Dad goes to his and John's hometown of Silent Hill to finish off some of his late mother's finances, a series of freak storms leave John unable to contact him. After a few weeks with nothing but a single letter from his father, John decides to take a weekend off of college and go in search of his father, Dave in tow. They don't make it far into the town before a crash leaves them separated, hurt, and confused. It doesn't take them long to figure out that they aren't the only ones stuck in Silent Hill, or that the town has been ravaged by more than just storms.
