    "You’ll let me take care of you, right?" Eddie asked, his eyes searching Buck's.
     
    Buck nodded jerkily.

    Eddie returned the nod a little mockingly, laughing when Buck growled and pressed their mouths together in a long, soft kiss.
     
    “I know you’ve been trying to handle things on your own,” Eddie murmured against Buck’s lips, his breath warm. “But what’s the point, Buck? Am I not your partner? Or you don’t trust me with things anymore?”

    Eddie sounded hurt and Buck hated himself for it.“No! it’s not that–“

    “Then what is it?”
