(This is my first ever fic! Got inspired after talking to some friends on discord about Wriolette and different AUs and decided to give it a shot. This fic is for funsies but I’ll try to hopefully keep the story cohesive and enjoyable :D)

“I hadn't gotten to it yet… you need a place to stay?”
To be honest, the reason Wise hadn't been looking for a roommate was that he didn't particularly want to live with a stranger. The apartment above Random Play was small, and with Belle that was fine… but with someone he didn't know? What if they didn't get along? What if they were messy? Or loud?
Not something Wise wanted to deal with.
“Not me, a friend. He's… a little down on his luck, but he's a great guy, I promise!”
Or, Belle heads off to college and Wise finds much more than a new roommate in Lighter.

"How did it get there?" Wise questioned aloud. "It wasn't there before." He traced his fingertips along the edge of the rose petals, as if he were manually mapping out routes on the soft, supple surface like he would a Carrot. He looked over at the other customers, but they all their backs were turned to him, either perusing the shelves or talking with their companions. "Did you see anything?" He turned back to Lighter.
Lighter opened his mouth but after a few seconds, snapped his jaw shut. "Don't think I did, no." He shrugged.
"But why?" Wise stared at the rose, as if it could tell him exactly who placed it next to him.
Once again, Lighter shrugged, but something sparkled in his verdant green eyes as he tilted his head to look directly at Wise, his sunglasses slipping a fraction off his nose.
"Maybe someone just really likes you," Lighter grinned, flashing his canines.
