Summary
“Stay close.” Hanbin murmurs, pulling Hao’s body closer to his.
He slots right next to Hanbin, “Hanbin-ah,” Hao whines in a breath, hand trying to brush the hood out of his vision, “I can’t see if you do that.”
“You don’t need to see,” Hanbin replies, “I’ll be your eyes.”Hao never imagined that sneaking into the royal kitchen would have him leaving his coven for good, without a single goodbye to the rest of his family. He would've also never dared to also imagine that the Sun God himself would be plucking him by the collar and dragging him straight to work for his abode. Really, there's much that he shouldn't be imagining. All he knows is that he's weak to a handsome face and that maybe with enough nagging, he can melt the cold exterior of someone who rules over something so warm.
Who knew the Sun God would be one to grovel on his feet for the mere presence of a daisy spirit?

I could never hate you, Hao thinks, the words screaming in his mind. It is cruel that Hanbin believes the same—that even now, even here, Hao is still being loved with unbearable generosity—one so vast it feels like condemnation. It is the ultimate confirmation of every fear Hao has ever had: that Hanbin’s love is a boundless, self-erasing thing, and Hao is its most unworthy recipient.
Alternatively: Zhang Hao and Sung Hanbin are roommates. They are also exes. It goes about as well as you expect.

“don’t be a stranger,” he repeats to himself. it loops in his head like a broken melody, playing over and over and over. he wants to frame it, maybe embroider it on a pillow, not that he knows how to do that, but hanbin’s sure he could figure it out. his phone buzzes in his hand, and hanbin’s sure he’s never moved to check a notification so quick. his hands are shaking and his chest feels like a balloon tied too tight, is this insanity?
he quickly changes the unknown contact to ‘haohao’ and smiles to himself, covering his mouth with his fist. is this what teenage girls feel like when they’re super in love with some boy band? because hanbin’s feeling as crazy as he possibly could right now, metaphorical hearts floating about his head.
or: zhang hao is a niche youtuber, with sung hanbin as his number one devoted fan.
