Summary
child of the sun
/tʃaɪld əv ðə sʌn/
(noun)
An almost-sacrilegious title for someone whose presence feels divine and untouchable; a person whose warmth and light sustain you, yet whose absence leaves you in devastating shadow. Often used as a confession of reverence and love, implying they are more than human and therefore beyond your possession.*
In childhood, Kokichi would never let go of his Shuichi. They went everywhere together; parks, fairgrounds, theatres, they had sleepovers almost every night. So, what happened? Well, when Shuichi decided that two of his other friends needed to be added to their hangouts, Kokichi didn't want to wait to be inevitably replaced, so he left and hung out with other friends. Sensing this childish tension between the two teens, their friends decided to plan out a triple date and disguise it as a simple catch-up so they would talk again. Will they succeed, or, like always, will a deeper truth be brought to light?
