Summary
It was like looking at a stranger wearing his dead friend’s face. Those blank, apathetic eyes were all wrong, this whole situation was wrong. Shadow was dead, and if by some miracle he was alive, he was supposed to greet him with that cocky smirk and challenge him to a friendly race, not stare down at him with the cold indifference of a stranger.
He was a dead man who wasn’t dead and who didn’t remember a single damn thing about him, his friends, or any of their time together.
Well, okay, Sonic had fought robots fifty times his size, battled a water deity, and saved an entire planet before. Surely he could befriend a stubborn hedgehog again, right?
Even if said hedgehog was really stubborn.

Summary
It is during Shadow’s first year on Earth that he receives an invitation to Amy Rose’s New Year’s Eve celebration.
Shadow has had no qualms about trashing the other invites she has sent—Rose is a very determined woman, but he has no desire to play nice with others.
This time though, something gives him pause.
Maria had always wanted to attend a New Year’s party on Earth. He’d told her he’d take her someday.
Shadow would never be able to take her the way he’d like to, but maybe this was finally one promise he wouldn’t have to break.
