Summary
Ed had always had a problem with personal space.
He never really noticed it. He assumed that if he did then he wouldn't have the problem in the first place, but alas he didn't, so it wasn't exactly a rare occurrence when people backed up from him or asked him to step away. Comments like 'why are you breathing down my neck?' or 'could you move, Ed?' were commonplace enough to not even cause offense.
That is to say, he wasn't all that surprised when, upon first meeting the Penguin, the mobster told him that he was standing too close.
