He thinks he might be used to being loved sharply or not at all, to touch that is too cold for him to get comfortable under or too hot for him to come out of it unscathed.

Summary
"Hi sweetheart! Welcome in!" A blonde girl stands at the bar, looking about her age. Touya, no Dabi, is about to yell at her about the nickname when the last of her energy goes out and she slumps down into a chair at the bar.
When the dizziness passes, she looks up to find the girl standing slightly over her, blocking the bar lights. Small red wings are flared out to block more light out. A towel is draped over the girl's shoulder, and her golden eyes stare down at her, contrasting her bright smile.
"You alright, dear?" Her accent is strong and familiar, something more found in southern Japan, but she can't place the exact area.
"Fine." She mummers and pushes her head back into her hands.
"Well, just let me know if you need anything, darling." Dabi rolls her head just enough to peak out and watch as the pretty girl steps away to help someone else out. Her wings flutter when she laughs and Dabi can't help but be a little impressed by how much of an art she makes drink mixing.

Members of the Creature Rejection Clan have infiltrated the PLF. To root them out, Toga comes up with the great plan of having Dabi and Hawks lure them out by being more obvious about their relationship in public. A PLF lieutenant debasing themselves with a heteromorph? Surely the CRC traitors will show their hand and target Hawks. What could possibly go wrong?
And thus Hawks ends up working an undercover mission for the PLF while technically already undercover at the PLF. Never a dull moment in his life.

He was clumsy with the pair of children's chopsticks — ones that came from an Endeavor-themed bento set to encourage him further (Yokumiru got an unlimited credit card to use for spending associated with Keigo's upbringing, and he wasn't about to underutilize it) — but he was learning at a relatively fast pace.
That could be said about almost every area of his education. His handwriting was wobbly but he did his exercises without complaint, seemingly soothed by the repetitiveness of the hiragana and the simple kanji he had recently gotten started on. His fashion sense might have been atrocious, but he was starting to develop one. He exceeded all expectations when it came to flying.
The only issue, so to speak, was his speech. Or rather, lack of thereof.
