Summary
Spinning around fast enough to give himself whiplash, Viktor turns towards the figure closest to him that vaguely resembles an age-appropriate male-identifying person, and grabs their arm, leaning in to whisper-yell between gritted teeth.
“Please go along with this and I promise to repay you in any way I can.”
Option 3, the grand winner. Bribe a total stranger into helping him look like he’s not a sad single loser in front of his ex boyfriend.

Summary
It was just a day. A day that held no significance to anyone but Viktor. But all of a sudden, Viktor can read minds? Woke up one day with some kind of latent supernatural-preternatural gift manifesting to wreak havoc on his daily life, schedule, and routines?! It had to be a fluke. But,
Once was a coincidence. “I… I mean—” Viktor stammered. “That’s very kind of you, Dmitri.”
Twice was a pattern. "So, is it a date?" he asked, a hopeful, charming smile on his lips.
And thrice was karmic intervention. A large, warm hand landed on Viktor's shoulder.
‘Don’t you fucking dare.’
Viktor stood frozen at the voice that suddenly resonated in his mind.
Jayce.
Or,
After Viktor turns 30, he gains the ability to read minds with a single touch. Based on Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! -

Summary
Observation 1 : Jayce is terrible at taking care of himself. It is a regular occurrence that he neglects sleep, nutrition and his own mental health in favour of work. The consequences are numerous and detrimental to his well-being, as well as their progress on the Hexgates.
Observation 2 : Jayce is incredibly responsive to direct orders and praise, and seems—on a subconscious level—increasingly more willing to accomplish a task if given an outside command.
A hypothesis is drawn.
