However, incredibly, he’s placed into situations even more horrifying than all four combined. Dazai is forced to bear witness to the most painfully oblivious lesbian situationship he’s ever seen in his life, confront a version of himself that’s never left the Mafia, and worst of all, have emotionally vulnerable conversations with Chuuya. But if he puts aside all that, at least he can take solace in the fact that he looks hot as a girl.

‘Look, I know it may seem like I’m meddling between the affairs of immortals, but I just can’t help it! I haven’t known Xiao for long, but he just seemed so sad when he talked about him and Lord Barbatos not being together anymore- I can’t just stand by and do nothing! And-‘
‘Wait,’ Zhongli interrupts. ‘So you… don’t actually need my advice on what teas can last in a humid environment?’
Amber blinks at him. ‘No, of course not! That was just an excuse so we could talk away from Xiao!’
‘…Oh,’ Zhongli says, a bit dejected. ‘I see.’ Perhaps the youth have less hope than he thought, if someone’s love life is more interesting than the fascinating storage procedures of different types of tea.
‘But that doesn’t mean I would never be interested in it!’ Amber hastily reassures Zhongli. ‘Just maybe not now!’
Privately, Zhongli thinks that there is always time for being interested in tea. But youthful minds are hard to sway, and being a child of Mondstadt, she is probably more interested in wine, anyway. …Damn it, Barbatos. What does wine have that a perfect cup of tea doesn’t?

Summary
Diluc sighs guiltily and puts her down. ‘I’m sorry, Klee,’ he tells her.
‘That was scary,’ she tells him. ‘I don’t like to see you and Big Brother Kaeya fighting. You should just tell him more turtle facts if you can’t think of anything nice to say.’
Kaeya’s mind helpfully supplies him with a brief scenario of Diluc that day in the rain, standing over him with a flaming claymore, and pausing his onslaught of attacks to educate Kaeya on how a turtle’s shell is not actually an exoskeleton like most people would assume but actually a modified rib cage that’s part of the vertebral column.
‘You’re right,’ Diluc sighs. ‘I shouldn’t have lost my temper at Sir Kaeya.’
Klee nods understandingly. ‘Now you need to say sorry to him.‘
Diluc blinks. ‘What?’
‘You need to say sorry to him,’ Klee repeats. ‘That’s what Master Jean always tells Klee to do when Klee says something that hurts people. And Klee is sure that Master Jean would be very, very upset if she sees Big Brother Kaeya and Big Brother Diluc not getting along.’

Paired with the easy admittance and the genuine smile on Future Oikawa’s face that signals how easily happiness comes to him nowadays, Hajime bites his lip in a valiant effort not to cry, because he is looking at the face of someone who is confident he has made the right choice and never regretted it, not for a second, not for a breath.
Present Oikawa’s eyes widen, and he presses his lips tightly together in that face Hajime knows he always makes when he’s trying desperately not to cry.
