When Ajax first woke up all he saw was darkness. He was completely surrounded by it. At first, he had thought he still had his eyes closed, he tried opening them, he closed them immediately. He held his father’s sword in hand yet he knew not how to use it. With tears in his eyes he prayed to any god to be freed from that terrible place. Ajax opened his eyes and stared into the abyss. The abyss stared back at him.
When Tartaglia first woke up all he saw was darkness. He was completely surrounded by it. There was only one place he knew that matched the description and he couldn’t help but grin at the thought of gaining more strength. This time he held his own weapon instead of his father’s and he knew no god would answer him. He wouldn’t get an answer, at least not where he was. Tartaglia stared into the abyss just as he had done when he was fourteen and Something in the abyss stared back.
