    Summary

"Turns out he’s the chosen hero of the legends," Daruk said with a cough.

Revali sputtered into a stunned silence.

“Bullshit, that’s impossible!” His feathers rustled as he balked. “He was sent by the demon king!”

“We know that, but— he has the mark of the goddess on his hand,” Urbosa snapped. “The rest of us saw it. If you don’t believe it, you can see for yourself.”

The Rito didn’t even deign to give the unconscious swordsman a glance.

“Hero or not, we’re not letting him off the hook just like that,” Revali’s voice climbed an octave. “He’s too dangerous— we saw what he’s capable of. We have to kill him while he’s still weakened!”

“We aren’t killing him,” Zelda asserted again. This time, she lifted her eyes. Her voice held a note of cautiousness, but it was still unshakeable.

“If we’re to even hope to defeat the demon king, we need the hero on our side. We have to take him with us.”

In which Link was raised as Ganon’s right hand man, but Zelda and the Champions snatch him away.

    Summary

Zelda Nohansen lived a normal life in Hyrule: her father is the wealthy Governor of the flourishing Windfall Island, she’s engaged to a respectable sailor, and she’s ready to travel across the sea to her new home beside them. But when pirates intercept her ship on the crossing, she finds herself in a new predicament she'd never planned: questioning everything she has been taught about strict Hylian rules, facing the harsh reality that not all pirates are simply the heartless creatures she’d been told stories about her whole life, and realizing Hylians are not as pure of spirit as she'd been led to believe.

    Summary

After an attack by the Yiga Clan years after the Calamity was expected to return, King Rhoam orders Princess Zelda to learn how to protect herself, which Zelda already doesn’t want to do. But, when she realizes her instructor is— in her own words—'a rude, impolite, stuck-up, bossy, condescending, disrespectful, arrogant, selfish, wretched young knight' named Link who she absolutely can’t stand from the moment she meets him, she’s determined to make this experience difficult for him as well. At least, that's what she intended at the start.

    Summary

A work exploring the events that took place before the calamity- detailing Link's chaotic ascendance into the royal guard, his first meetings with each of the champions, Zelda, and the people who raised him. [Complete!]

"Link tossed the sword down. It stayed upright, embedded into the dirt and mud. He wanted to tell her just how desperately he’d wanted to reject it and put it back into its pedestal. The way he ran and lied, and was still lying. King Rhoam was the one who insisted the truth be buried, but Link didn’t utter a word of protest. He may have come clean, but he had no intention of coming clean to all of Hyrule.

He felt he didn’t owe Hyrule anything.

But the question remained, just how much did he owe Zelda?"
