They’re looking at him and he feels like he’s going to vomit. He avoids direct eye contact. Easier that way. Stay detached, compartmentalize. Don’t. Panic. No. Panic. “I’m leaving the 118.”
The announcement goes as well as he thought it would. Buck and Hen look at each other, then at him. He remembers a month earlier, when Buck had announced the same thing and the looks shared were much different because they knew Buck wouldn’t really be going anywhere. But this time, this announcement from Eddie is serious, and no amount of talking or reassurance is going to change it. They seem to know that.

Years ago, Sheriff Stilinski had been prescribed sleep meds and refused to take them on principle. That orange bottle, filled to the brim, has been in the fridge ever since. Stiles had never cared to try them and didn't want the hassle of selling them so he left them alone. Now he sees a greater purpose for them.
The sheriff would never approve of them being friends let alone them dating. Stiles is underage and Derek is the kind of guy that makes Sheriff Stilinski frown and shake his head before mumbling about how lawless and feral people are in this day and age.
Those sleeping pills are his only option.

Peter crawled to a stop behind the rickety old Jeep as its blinkers turned on, and his fingers clenched around the wheel. He growled and prepared to slam his foot on the gas to roar off past it, just to prove a fucking point. But then his eyes fell upon the sweet little thing that threw the driver's door open with a frustrated tilt to his shoulders, and Peter's irritation immediately washed away.
The young man, skinny in all the right ways, face flushed from the nip of the cold, long fingers reaching up to pull in frustration at wild hair, that puffy jacket of his catching on his shirt with the movement and lifting it to show a sliver of soft, pale skin above his waistband... God damn.
Peter was putting his car in park and wandering out to meet the boy before he even knew it.
